Dangerously Delicious

But this recipe is super simple.  It's a "Grandma Mary Recipe" and everything that my Grandma Mary makes is delicious!  I am so thankful for the amazing grandmothers God blessed me with.  They are both Godly women who served the Lord.  My Grandma Shirley is now in Heaven.  One thing they have in common is they are both amazing cooks.  Some of the best food I ever put in my mouth has come from their kitchens.
Carmel Popcorn
1 large bowl air popped popcorn*
Syrup ingredients:
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    1/2 tsp salt
Added later: 1/2 tsp baking soda

Place popcorn lifted by handfuls to sift out the old maids into a double lined brown bag.

Place syrup ingredients in a microwaveable casserole dish.  Microwave for 2 minutes and stir.  Microwave 2 more minutes.  Add baking soda and stir well.  The mixture will be foamy.

Pour syrup mixture over popcorn in brown bag and stir with a spoon to coat.

Fold down the bag and microwave for 1 minute.
Take bag out and shake well.
Repeat 2 more times for a total of 3 minutes.

Spread on a large cookie sheet to cool.  Try not to eat the whole bowl at once!

*You can use plain/natural microwave popcorn if you don't have an air popper- use 2-3 bags

  1. Is this basically the same thing as the deliciousness I'm going to devour tonight at MOPS? I HAVE to try this! Also, I love your sweet Happy Pumpkin. Sounds like "The Pumpkin Parable." So sweet!
