These feet were made for walking...FINALLY!

I decided that living among the land of the crawling was getting old. So today at a playdate I took my first steps. All the other girls there were my age and have been walking for months...and today I just decided to join them. I even took a few steps later today for my daddy when he got home from work. Mommy and Daddy are so proud.

Coca Cola 600

This weekend I was supposed to get my first taste of NASCAR. We were given free tickets and I decided I'm up for anything once. Two rain delays and three hours later we left Lowe's Motor Speedway without even seeing a racecar go around the track. I loved to watch all the different people. I definitely decided I need to wear some camo next time. Hopefully next year the weather will cooperate.

They postponed the race until Monday and sadly Stephen had to work!

A Trip Uptown

This week my new friend, Cheryl, and I felt adventurous. We road the LYNX light rail and spent the morning exploring Uptown Charlotte and Imaginon (the children's library). Lily Kate and Anna Kate's first train ride! The girls really like to talk to eachother. Their birthdays are only a few days apart...so they speak the same language
The girls enjoyed story time and then played with some foam blocks
Lily Kate loved looking at herself as part of this painting

They were sound asleep almost before we left the station
***I forgot my camera...so thanks so much Cheryl for sharing!
The Dancing with the Stars finale was last night...I have never before had any interest in the show, but this year I really like Shawn Johnson and Melissa from the Bachelor. Here is our version of Dancing with the Stars!

Lily Kate wanted to include her grandmas. Happy Birthday, Grandebbie!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the...DAY!

Some days we absolutely cannot wait for Stephen to get home. I love it when I hear his ring tone signaling that he is on his way home. Lily Kate's face says it all in this picture. Even Reese gets excited (some days he has an asthma attack when he sees Stephen's car pull into the drive).

Playing with Daddy is just so much fun!

Let Them Eat Cake...or Dirt

It is never a good sign when Lily Kate is quietly playing. It always means she is up to something. The other day I left her for 2 minutes; what did I find when I returned from upstairs?
THIS: Yes, my sweet little girl decided that the breakfast of oatmeal and a waffle that she had just eaten wasn't filling enough. She needed just a little potting soil to top her off. I thought our entire house was baby proof...not quite.
