Canvasing the Neighborhood

I have always enjoyed painting, but I don't do it often enough.
This time I had an excuse:  Two precious nieces!!

So I borrowed their bedspread for a week and set to work.  Here is the finished product:

Their Nursery Bedding
Here are a few others I have done this year:
A canvas I made for a dear friend's little girl

Pottery Barn Coco Dot Bedding

Canvas for Lily Kate's Big Girl Room
Her Bedding (and her tiny little self)
I really enjoy doing it, and after I made Chloe & Mercy's, Stephen said I should start a business.  I don't know if I'm quite ready to set up an Etsy page :),  but if you have a need, let me know. If you aren't sold on buying one from a store, I'd be happy to try to make something cute and customized for you for a good price.

Be My Valentine

Since it was Valentine's Day our Monday Play group had a special treat...brownies, balloons and a craft! In a 2-year-olds world it doesn't get much better than that, who am I kidding...in MY world it doesn't get much better than that :)

Lily Kate and Anna Kate working on their craft
Cheryl had a doctor's appointment so Anna Kate got to come to our house to play/nap this afternoon!

The girls get along so well.  Though they did get a little wild!

Lily Kate and I made these Butterfly Valentines.  They were a hit!
I got the idea from Family Fun magazine.

Christmas Crafts

Today we visited Small Hands, Big Art for a fun filled hour of crafts.  Lily Kate made some beautiful artwork and especially loved painting and glittering everything!
Playing with homemade playdoh

Decorating a contact paper Christmas ornament
Aubrey came too and I was so nervous about how I would handle both kids.  God was looking out for me, Aubrey napped the entire time!
The finished projects: A Christmas ornament, Christmas tree, Cool colors foil collage/painting.

Small Hands Big Art

Today, Mommy and I went to an art studio to make some crafts.  We got to gluestick, paint and even use marbles to make all sorts of pretty things.
My first project, I gluesticked a pig!
I loved putting different beads and shapes on my apple.
I was so excited that Anna Kate was there too!
She asked me to sit on the bench next to her.
My projects.  The middle one is a caterpillar and the bottom right is marble paint.

Simple Things

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a wonderful and lazy day. We have been rather crafty this week. Here are some of our projects:
The Valentines we made for Lily Kate to exchange this year (idea from Family Fun Magazine)

Lily Kate made this heart bouquet for Daddy...who says men shouldn't get flowers?
The funniest part of my Valentine gift from Stephen...I loved the infomercial. Can't wait to use them! - Note: only put them on an open can, they may get stuck on an unopened one. I learned this the hard way.
Our silly little girl in her new pjs. Thanks, JaJa & Pa!

I'm loving the winter Olympics and Amazing Race was pretty stinking hilarious tonight! A perfect ending to a wonderful day!
