Go Panthers!

Thursday night was the first round of the NFL Draft, we decided to show my family how things are done Panther's style so we headed to the stadium to celebrate!
Walking in.

The NBC Peacock

Aubrey loved running around on the field!

Checking out the new uniforms

That's them on the Jumbo tron!
It's hard being a baby :)

Mom's first face paint!

The cheerleaders let her borrow a pom pom!
It was a wonderful event.  It was all of us (except Stephen's) first time on an NFL field.  Go Panthers!

Swim Like a Fish

Lily Kate started swimming lessons this week at Charlotte Aquatic Center.  She LOVED it!  Here are some pictures from her first lesson with Mr. Mike.

So excited!

She asked when her next one is, and stated that she swam like a fish.

Girls Night Out

Monday night, the area Chick-fil-A's hosted Girls Night Out- a fun evening for girls and their mom's to have some girl time.
I feel it's important to spend on-on-one time with each of the girls, so this night was just for Lily Kate and I :)  Stephen and Aubrey had PBJs at home :)

Chowing down after our Mary Kay Satin Hands treatment

LK had the brownie for dessert- I chose cheesecake!
I love Chick-fil-A, not only because their food is delish- but also because they do events like this!

The Future

Lily Kate had her 4-year-old well child visit last week.  In the last year, she lost a half pound :( but she grew 2 inches!  She has really shot up this year!  They weren't worried about her weight loss because of her growth- she is just a skinny minnie :)
While we were waiting to see Dr. Spell, I saw an exciting flyer on the bulletin board!
(especially the second bullet point)
I know I'm partial, but I think Stephen is the best pediatrician in Charlotte :).  He is not only brilliant, but he is a great people person.  He loves being able to make a child smile and forget about his/her pain for a few moments.  He is very attentive and caring and will spend as much time with a family as is needed for them to feel comfortable in the care they are receiving.  He tries to practice what he preaches so we abide by AAP guidelines in the raising of our girls.
While he has loved residency and getting to work in all the different areas of the hospital, we are all excited that we will finally be"settling down".  Stephen has worked so hard to get to where he is; 8 years of training (that's not including undergraduate studies)- I still can't believe he will be joining Charlotte Pediatric Clinic this summer!  We love Charlotte Peds and have taken our girls there since we moved here 4 years ago.  This is an amazing opportunity for him and our family.

Stephen will be joining Dr. Spell and Dr. Temple at the Pineville Branch but just a few weeks after he joins them, they will be relocating to Blakeney!  Here's a picture of the building they are renovating into their new offices!  It is right off of Rea Road, just past the Blakeney Shopping Center.

If you are in the market for a new pediatrician, I know the best one in town :)  I'm married to him!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.   Jeremiah 29:11

Hap Birtday, Reese!

We had only had Reese a little over a year, when I woke up in the middle of the night to a chewing noise.  I turned on the light and found our precious little puppy using my glasses as a chew toy!  To say I was upset is a major understatement.  I immediately put him in the laundry room and got on the computer.  I was on PupsForSale.com when Stephen woke up and realized what was happening.  He talked me down off of my ledge and 7 years later, Reese is still an intricate part of our family!

O Lord, how many and varied are Your works! In wisdom have You made them all; the earth is full of Your riches and Your creatures. Psalm 104:24
We are so blessed to have had this sweet little Chihuahua puppy join our family 8 years ago.  He was our "first child" and has since adjusted to being the family dog.
He is my little hoover and cleans up after all our meals and he so sweet and gentle with the girls.  Lily Kate adores him and the girls are constantly asking if they can give him a treat.  We named him Reese because he looked like a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, but as he has gotten older his light brown fur has turned to white.
Thanks for keeping us safe, PupPup!  We love you!  Happy 45th Birthday, Old Man!

Restaurant Review: The Cowfish

We are always up for trying out new restaurants and Cowfish has been on our list for quite some time.  Friday afternoon we decided to brave the crowds and give it a try.  It was fabulous!  While we did have to wait to get a table (we arrived right at noon and had a 20 minute wait) the gigantic fish aquarium kept the girls distracted while we waited.

We were seated on the outdoor heated patio and it was a great location for a young family.  The menu is extensive since they specialize in both burgers and sushi it was tough to make a decision.
The kids meal was awesome- the girls chose the Sweet Lava Rocks: Crispy chicken covered with sweet & sour sauce with chunks of pineapple and sweet red peppers.  It came with a drink, and choice of two sides (oranges, apples, edamame, french fries, carrots).  I loved all the healthy options!
Of course my kids still wanted the fries, but I loved that they also got edamame.
Aubrey loved the sticky rice- it's best eaten as a ball :)
Once our food arrived, we were so hungry- I forgot to take any pictures ;)  I went with the Cowfish Bento Box- It included a mini burger, 4 piece sushi roll, Thai cucumbers, edamame and sweet potato fries- A TON OF FOOD- but oh so yummy!

Stephen chose the C.B.C.L.T: Beef burger, sharp cheddar cheese, thick cut applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Served on brioche with signature Cowfish sauce

We both were completely impressed by the delicious food and the fabulous service.  We are definitely planning to go again sometime.

While I'm sure it has a different feel at night, it was very family friendly and I felt that the overall atmosphere was welcoming and not the least bit snooty :)

Eggstra Special Easter!

We had a lot of good family time this holiday- Stephen was off and we got to hang out with his parents, Unca & Rachie and the twins too!  Stephen and I even had a movie date!  We finally saw Hunger Games- Huge shout out to his parents for keeping the girls so we could go!
Dyeing Eggs
Egg Hunt at Pineville Church of the Nazarene
There were over 4000 eggs scattered and the kids gathered them all in under 4 minutes!

Aubrey got 3 eggs for her basket

Time with the cousins
 Easter Sunday
The Easter Bunny brought Bunny glasses!

Lily Kate is still perplexed that the Easter Bunny would know that she wanted Buzz Lightyear Pajamas

We went to the 11 o'clock service at Parkwood and then got to eat a huge feast and hang out more with the fam.  Unfortunately, my memory card on the camera was full, so I didn't get more pictures.
