Walking in a winter wonderland...or 1.5 inches of snow!

We woke up Saturday morning to a semi-snow covered yard! We have had a fun time playing in the snow this weekend. I don't know who is the bigger kid- Stephen or I :) We did some sledding using our lawn mower box and laundry basket yesterday. Today LK and I went out and just stomped around in the snow. It was great until she started eating the slushy snow from the drain...YIKES! Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that little mind of hers.
Jeremiah was here this weekend, so the guys had to be adventurous on our neighbors driveway.Victorious after a successful- cardboard snowboard ride down the drive. Thankfully no bumps or bruises occurred as they figured out every possible way to use the box.

Lily Kate taking it all in.
Lily Kate preferred the lawn mower box to the laundry basket.
Did you know that snow is good for eating?? I should never have showed her that!

Fit for a Queen

This week is Queens Feast in Charlotte and Thursday night we were able to have a wonderful meal Uptown at LaVecchias. We rode the light rail in - with half of Charlotte (the circus is in town). Dinner was delicious! It was nice to have a double date with Stephen's parents.

I just like this picture of Lily Kate. She has such a fun imagination these days...feeding her dad some tea from her new tea set! Thanks Ella Wallace!!!

Potty Like a Rockstar

Today is day 3 of potty training and I am about ready to call it quits! My child was in a crazy mood today and it was almost impossible to keep her occupied for more than 3 minutes at a time. She didn't eat much dinner, but ate playdoh and bubbles instead. I'm so thankful it's bedtime.
It has been one of those days. I thank God His mercies are new every morning!

Since the earthquake in Haiti, I haven't been able to bring myself to blog. Too much of the things that I would write about seem so trivial compared to what people are going through right now. I will be back, I just feel like my complaint about nausea or funny Lily Kate story aren't significant right now.
I'm not trying to be a downer, I really feel we need to pray, give and go if we can!

Have a Heart

I recently found a new show called Children's Heart that airs on Thursdays at 10 AM on FOX. I know, strange time, just set your DVR.
It is the story of 3 children from Mongolia who travel to the US for life saving heart surgery. It is part of Samaritan's Purse Children's Heart Project. This week will be the 6th episode, but you can watch all the episodes online. Check it out...and if your anything like me, bring your tissues. Our hospital in Greenville, NC participates and I'm so sad that we didn't get more involved while we were there.

Pajamas til noon

Kids can definitely get away with it much easier than adults, but somedays it is just so much fun to stay in your pjs "all day." So Monday we hosted a pajama party playdate.

We had a great turn out and Lily Kate did a good job at sharing her toys with everyone. I must admit was a little embarrassed to go check my mail at 1:30 and still be in my pjs.
She has really taken quite an interest in her "babies" lately, she loves to feed them, sit them at the table, take them wherever I will let her, basically she involves them as much as she can in every aspect of her life.
We got Lily Kate an Anywhere Chair for Christmas, but couldn't decide on the slip cover color, so it wasn't here for Christmas. We finally got the embroidered cover in the mail this week and she loves the thing. She likes to read in it, put her babies in it, and watch Dora Boots from it.
